Rigid Occlusal Splints & Hard Nightguards
Bruxism and clenching can cause irreversible damage to a patient's dentition. Our custom-fit rigid splints are designed to mitigate these involuntary behaviors during sleep.
- Material & Fit: Fabricated from crystal-clear, heat-cured acrylic for maximum durability and a precise fit.
- Advanced Design: Our technicians specifically engineer the anterior region to ensure a smooth path of insertion, even for patients with significant undercuts or flared teeth.
- Customization: Available for either arch, these can be designed with or without anterior guidance. Please specify your preference for a flat occlusal plane or a design that engages the opposing cusps.
- Indications: Recommended for heavy bruxers and patients managing moderate TMJ disorders.
Soft & Hybrid (Combination) Nightguards
We provide specialized options for patients who require varying levels of comfort and rigidity:
- Hybrid (Hard/Soft): This appliance features a 4mm vacuum-formed hard outer shell for protection and a soft internal liner for patient comfort. To ensure a balanced occlusal table, we wax and process hard acrylic onto the anterior surface, preventing the open anterior bite often caused by increased posterior vertical dimension.
- Soft Guards: A fully resilient 4mm vacuum-formed option for patients with minor clenching habits.
- Impak™ Heat-Cured Material: Produced by Nobilium, this unique resilient material becomes pliable when placed in hot water. This allows for effortless chairside seating and minimizes the time required for occlusal adjustments.
Professional Athletic Mouthguards
For high-impact protection, we offer the Playsafe (Medium Duty) sports mouthguard by Erkodent.
- Dual-Layer Construction: Features a 2mm internal layer combined with a 4mm external protective layer.
- Targeted Sports: Ideal for boxing, basketball, soccer, wrestling, judo, cycling, and motocross—activities where the athlete may encounter large-surface-area impacts.
- Anatomical Design: Always fabricated for the upper arch and extending to the first molars. These guards provide a secure, non-slip fit that allows for unobstructed breathing and captures the opposing bite on the occlusal surface.
